Message from the President
Nice to meet you, I'm Mayuko Nishihara, CEO of Behomaru Co., Ltd.
Before starting my own business, I worked as a salaried researcher at a large corporation for 15 years, developing materials, analyzing failures, and developing new businesses. During this time, I learned about the quality control systems, production technology systems, and strategies that are unique to large corporations, while also experiencing a variety of challenges, such as the struggles faced by operating companies when new businesses cannot be launched, climate change measures that are incompatible with existing businesses, and open innovation that is merely a formality. To overcome these challenges, I attended a university for working adults called the Graduate School of Business Design, where I learned about the thinking and methods for creating businesses from scratch and obtained a Master's in Business Design (MPD).
The conclusion I came to was that "zero-to-one businesses are easier to achieve in an agility and empowered environment like a startup."
When I took out the trash in the morning, I had a small thought: "I've produced a lot of trash this week. I hope this trash can be put to good use until the end." Or, I had a perfect idea: "Wouldn't it be interesting if we mixed CO2 absorbent material into resin?" I think it was because I was so mobile that I was able to realize it.
As someone who has been involved in various development projects for many years in an engineering position, I find it strange that environmental activities dismiss past science and technology, such as saying that plastic is evil or that it is a shame to fly. Science and technology are not omnipotent, but I believe that it is precisely because they are not omnipotent that climate change countermeasures that are a win-win for everyone, including the Earth, can be born with new ideas and enthusiasm.
"Every little bit counts." When each individual changes their behavior, social issues come closer to being truly resolved. We want to be a force behind that change.

Adding new environmental value to your products

It absorbs CO₂ little by little from the atmosphere and fixes it in the plastic. Because plastic is used so widely, this process is effective.

Plastics are essential in terms of functionality and performance. But by adding the new CO₂ absorption function to plastics, they become the new heroes!

Behomaru Inc. is a startup with the vision of "Become a hero who saves the Earth," and is developing and manufacturing "Binowa®," a "magical white powder" that absorbs CO₂ - an environmentally friendly material derived from biomass.

This material can be mixed into plastics (including resins and inks) to allow the product itself to absorb and fix CO₂.It can also release CO₂ when heated above 80°C, which opens up a wide range of potential applications.
Through this new material, we are trying to create a future where "anywhere, anytime, anyone, anywhere, any place in everyday life can become a CO₂ capture spot." Although the absorption capacity of each individual piece may not be large, by using a huge amount of plastic, little by little we can change the world.
